I Want
05:16
|
|||
I want a call or a text
I want a freshly baked pie
I want a warm bath
I want to put on my face
I want you to see me, to see me with new eyes
I want to go to the Smoky Mountains
I want to make music with you
I want to get out of here
I want to make everything okay
I want to be who I want to be
I want the world to see me

Time

Our eyes don't witness the same hues, the same green
Our ears can't hear the same song, the same great song
A dream it's gone
It's time to get up
I need more time
Blade of grass, an ocean
A grain of sand, a bird call
The rain falls
I'm sliding
I'm sweating
I need more time

I dreamed of a carpenter
building a house of wood
under a rainbow sky
green-gray a mother sky
nestled beneath a tree
under a star-filled cloud
under a bough of green
upon a boat at sea
And the morning brings
a wash of cyan
a wash of indigo
my heart is full so
to love you is not to know
where the next night goes
where the next year goes
what the future holds

In Dreams
02:07
|

To the east, the sun rises red
and my love is laying quietly alone in an empty bed
To the west, the sun lingers late
and I'm up troubled stirring sitting up in bed awake
In my dreams
I'll see you in my dreams
To the north, the mountain will rise
and I wish I was there just to take in the mountain's size
To the south, the birds will sing
and you wish you were there just for the peace it will bring
In your dreams
You'll see me in your dreams

Knocked me down on my knees and took my hands behind me and zip-tied me. Put me into a cruiser. It was all so sudden. There was never a personal order for me to stop doing whatever I was doing. I was just standing on the sidewalk. And I got kneed in the back and arrested. I was one of seventeen people arrested that night. We were taken to the jail in Auburn, the county jail. And we were in a cell for probably like five, six hours. And then the story goes, I can't confirm it...
They collected this bail money and got us out that evening. Otherwise we were gonna be there overnight. So anyway we got bailed out. And I had to tell my parents that I was arrested. It's the only time in my life still that I've been arrested. And they were very upset about it but they agreed with the cause.

As a woman
As a woman
Like a woman
Like a woman
Like a woman
A tall girl
A strong girl
A long girl
A song girl
A wrong girl
A song bird
A lean bird
A strong bird
A stream bird
A dream bird
A blue pill
A potion
Sublingual
A wrinkle
An old girl
A body
Changing body
Make this body
Fuck this body
Love this body
